Books I’ve Read in 2022 Thus Far…
I loved reading as a kid, I still remember the day I signed my first library card. After college I stopped reading for fun, I somehow lost the joy of reading for a few years as I transitioned into working fulltime. Then after a few years I started to miss that indulging feeling of being nose deep into an excellent novel. These days I try to read one book a month – I feel like that’s a realistic and solid goal to have in life.
Below are some of the books I’ve read and enjoyed recently:
- On the Road by Jack Kerouac
- (Of course, haha!)
- Aqua Viva by Clarice Lispector
- (Fantastic! A special find!)
- King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine by Robert L. Moore and Douglas Gillette
- Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind
- (Finally got through this one – an entertaining, high level view of the major points of world history)
- Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History
- (This was so cool to read while in Texas. I learned a lot about the state’s history through this book.)
- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
- (I connected with Francie so much, reading this was heartwarming and made me miss home.)
I’ll keep updating this list as I read more books.
